Main Characters:
The main character is Willow Moss. She’s a young witch with a power that lets her find lost things like keys or socks. I liked her because she isn’t loud or super confident, but she’s still brave in her own quiet way.
My favourite character was Oswin, her companion. He’s a small, furry monster who only ever says "grrr", but somehow he's still really funny. I always wanted to know what he was thinking.
What Happens?
Willow is asked by a powerful witch named Moreg Vaine to help find a lost day a real day that has gone missing from everyone’s memory. Only Willow remembers it. That part was kind of creepy and cool at the same time. She travels to different places to figure out what happened, and she slowly realises that something bad might be coming. One part that really stuck with me was when she finds out that someone she trusted wasn’t telling her the full truth.
Favourite Part
:
I really liked the scene in the Cloud Tower where Willow meets a group of fortune-telling witches. It was a little spooky, especially the part with the stairs that moved on their own. But I liked how Willow didn’t freak out, even though she was clearly nervous. It made me feel like I could be brave too if I had to.
Author’s Style:
Dominique Valente writes in a way that made me feel like I was inside the story. She gives a lot of detail, but it’s not boring—it helps you picture what’s happening. I liked how she made Willow’s thoughts feel real, like when she doubts herself or worries about messing up. Also, the way she described the magical spells didn’t feel too confusing—they were kind of funny sometimes, like the spell to grow someone’s hair back.
Lesson or Message
:
I think the message is that even if you don’t think you’re important, you might be the only one who can fix something. Willow’s power didn’t seem very strong compared to other witches, but it ended up being the most useful. It made me think about how small things can actually be big things.
Would You Recommend It?
Yes, I would! I’d tell someone to read it if they like books that mix mystery and magic but also have characters that feel real. I think even someone who doesn’t usually read fantasy might like it because Willow is easy to connect with.
My Review:
I think that this book has a totally new level of interesting twists and turns from what I have been reading so far. It flows smoothly as more mysterious and magical characters get added to the story.
I wanted to keep turning the pages, taking in each word written in it.
The book is about a girl named Willow Moss and she possesses a special magic. It’s just the the kind of magic that nobody seems to appreciate. (Ok, I’m not being rude, but at first I thought that “Willow Moss” is a place not a person, because “Moss” isn’t a surname I’ve ever heard of.)
Now the most interesting part for me was when Willow was just helping people find some things, she finds the most feared and infamous witch, Moreg Vaine.
She needed Willow’s help, and thats a part that I felt astounded at. Why would such a powerful person need help from Willow, and if it was Willow’s powers that Moreg wanted to use to find something, then why would such a powerful witch lose something in first place?
Well, the reason was that there was a lost day that she wanted willow to find.
I know, so magical and mystical right?
As I read the book keenly, I thought that Willow felt unsure, and she was not one percent wrong because I don’t think Moreg Vaine is a normal person you see strolling down the street everyday.
So I guess after Moreg told her that it was a lost day that she needed to find, she felt like it was something important, and decided to help all the people and find their memories and the day (which was last Tuesday)
So I like the mix of different kinds of characters accompanying Willow through the nearly impossible journey of finding a lost Tuesday.
There are trolls, dragons, forgotten tellers, Willow’s cousin (whose name is Essential for some reason) and although they’re all different in a way, they also are meant to be together in a way.
I absolutely loved reading the book and would recommend 100%.
Can’t wait to open the next book in the series.
