Main Characters
Rio, Marina and Birch. My favourite was Birch. Although he was a busy sailor and was Marina’s dad at the same time, he agreed to take Rio to find White beak, a special whale that Rio’s mother loved.
What Happens?
I liked the part where Rio’s feeling switched about the island he was going to visit with his grandma because his mother was unwell
Favourite Part
My favourite part was Rio found out he could listen to whales. I thought It was something odd and different than most stories
The Author’s Style
This authors style was different, like how I would write. Simple yet explaining a whole land in 2 chapters
Lesson or Message
Teaches me how not all relations should be with humans, some can be different
Would You Recommend It?
I would definitely recommend this amazing and wonderful story to everyone my age and make sure you check out the other books by Hannah Gold whilst you’re on the lookout for this one!
My Review:
The Lost Whale, amazingly written Hannah Gold.
I absolutely loved the way that this story was carefully placed into perfection and how things kept taking interesting turns. I felt something different when I started it.
Odd, simple, not too interesting I could say, for the first about 15 chapters out of exactly 41 in total.
The chapters were short (short as in I read 9 or 10 a day, me being me) yet there was still some curious thought lingering in the air whilst I was all cozy in bed and wrapped up in my blanket and a story to keep me company.
I thought that this book would be another one of those that slowly amazed me and managed to squash and squeeze that 5 stars out of me, but it lost the last point, for some of the reasons above..
First, the twist ending of this story was absolutely brilliant, but the intro, not so much, I felt like it lacked some of that amazing-ness I usually find in this Hannah Gold series
Second, the chapters were way too short. 5 or 6 pages in one. And no interesting words of places or even idioms to make up for that!
Again, I loved this story and I felt like I was taking each of the characters steps as the author explained it so well!
I recommend this book to everyone reading my review and hope you look out for the other books by Hanna Gold as well.
Thank you for reading my review.
